What To Expect at Your Orthodontic Consultation

Thinking about getting braces? Awesome! We can’t wait to help you achieve a beautifully straight smile. Before you can have braces applied to your teeth or custom clear aligners created, an orthodontic consultation must be scheduled. This is an important step in the orthodontic process, since this is when much of the initial planning happens.
Choose the Type of Orthodontic Treatment
If you aren’t sure which type of orthodontic treatment you would like to pursue, we can go over the many choices we offer. We’ll discuss the upsides and downsides of metal braces, ceramic braces, lingual braces, Invisalign®, and our other treatment options with you. We will help you to determine which choice will be best for your needs, preferences, and lifestyle. We can also go over your budget and figure out how you will finance the cost of your treatment. Together we can come up with a financing plan that will work with for you.
Talk About the Plan
Orthodontic consultations are also a great time to take impressions of the teeth to begin designing your custom treatment plan. Once we have a perfect mold of your smile, advanced orthodontic software will be used to plan out how the teeth will move and how they will end up looking at the end of your treatment. We will also give you an estimate of how long your treatment should take.
Prepare Your Questions
When preparing for an orthodontic consultation, we recommend doing some initial research and coming up with some questions for our team.
