Littleton Museum

The Littleton Museum gives kids a hands-on way to learn about the past. Museum staff and volunteers wear traditional costumes and work on the farm site and in the blacksmith shop, giving your kids a chance to experience “living history.” We know that our kids love seeing the animals on the farm sites!

Hudson Gardens

Hudson Gardens is a great place to walk around with kids, spread out a blanket for a picnic, and take in the local flora and fauna. During the springtime, you and your young ones can see geese raising their goslings. (Although be careful not to get too close!) There are thirty acres filled with pathways to traverse to view the beautiful landscape and sculptures. There’s also a turtle pond, “Sticks & Stones” play area and G-scale garden railroad that are kid favorites. Best of all, Hudson Gardens is free!

South Platte Park

South Platte Park and Carson Nature Center is another great place to walk around and explore with your kids. With 5 lakes, 2.5 miles of river, and 878 acres of open space, your family is sure to find something fun to do at this park.

Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms

The Denver Botanic Gardens is both a plant refuge and a working farm. Your kids will enjoy wandering the grounds and taking in the scenery, but plan ahead because tickets must be purchased in advance. The Botanic Gardens change with the seasons, so it’s a great place to visit time and again!
